Tina Moriarty, from Castlegregory in Co Kerry, has four children, one of whom is lesbian. Tina knows she has a personal stake in ensuring her daughter has equal rights in our country, and she is worried about people becoming complacent about securing a Yes vote. In her beautifully expressed and heartfelt video, she is asking people to make the right decision for the future. The message that Ireland needs to send to gay people across the country and to the generations to come is that: “You are equal and you will never have to ask again.”

‘We cannot be complacent or expect the referendum to pass. Because it needs a push. You need to talk to people, wear those badges, and work past those awkward silences and start a conversation. This is everyone’s issue. This is about equality for all. And we need to work hard together, particularly here in Kerry, where TDs have said that canvassing is a wasted endeavour.’
