Piotr is Polish and living in Dublin for the past 8 years. He cannot vote in the upcoming referendum, though its results will also affect his future and his continued life in Ireland. His story is similar to the stories of thousands of other migrants who came to Ireland to find a better life. “Ireland and Irish people welcomed us and embraced the diversity which we brought with us“, he says. “We found our home here. We celebrate our achievements and successes, share happiness and find friendship and love here. Many of us are gay and lesbian, and in many respects Ireland gives us more rights and better treatment than our own fatherland. In May, thanks to people who have the moral courage to stand up for equality, Ireland has the prospect of being a fitting land for love, inclusion and respect.“
