Jonathan is a 25 year old accountant from Cork. He has been openly gay for nine years, and in this video he makes an emotional and honest plea for voters to focus on the similarities between us, not the differences.

“In my 25 years I’ve been in love, have been loved; I’ve broken hearts and been heartbroken. But right now, on the topic of marriage, I’m seen as a completely different person to you. On May 22nd you have the opportunity to change this country for the better by voting yes to marriage equality. By voting yes, you’re saying that how you feel is not superior to how I feel.”
