Colm Ó Caomhánaigh and Rachel Pearson are a recently married couple who, upon getting married, learned of the many subtle and positive differences that marriage makes to a relationship. They’re of the opinion that to continue to deny LBGT couples the option of marriage, marriage itself is devalued.
“It’s always troubled us that our friends can’t enjoy marriage because they’re same-sex couples. We feel that that devalues marriage. We got married late in life….. and it changed things for us. It changes your relationship in lots of ways, and all of them are positive. It definitely helps your relationship.”
