Ciarán is voting yes to marriage equality, because he grew up in an Ireland where marriage was only something that happened between a man and a woman. This led him to believe my whole life that marriage was not for him. He tells us that he’s since come to realise that the definition of marriage can be changed with this referendum to include him and that he hopes to see that positive change happen. He hopes that this will mean children growing up today will feel included and equal, no matter their orientation.

“I’ve given it a lot of thought of the last few months and I believe that the youth of tomorrow deserve a chance to see themselves marrying someone of the same sex if that’s what they wish.”
