Nadine is a mother and a lesbian living in Dublin. She has been campaigning for Marriage Equality for many years and knows all too well that Civil Partnerships are not equal to Marriage. She wants this vote to pass to hand the dream of marriage back to LGBT people.
“[When civil partnerships were drafted] people sat around a table and went through, point by point, the privileges, rights and protections that marriage gives to people, to decide if my relationship was worthy of those things. On 160 points they decided that it wasn’t. I want my relationship to be valued by society in the same way that my brothers’ and sisters’ relationships are valued and recognised, culturally and legally.”
