Pádraig MacLochlainn is a Sinn Féin TD from Donegal North West. He relates the story of how he and his wife travelled to the wedding of dear gay friends in Spain. He was taken by the genuine and strong love on display, and saddened at how this love is not protected in Ireland. That’s why he’s voting yes.
“Our loved friends should have the right to do what Sinéad and I did. Which is to get married, to celebrate your love with friends and family, to have exactly the same rights as everybody else. If we are to truly live in a republic, all people should be equal; all relationships should be equal. Let’s make Ireland that republic.”
